Baby Beats

For ages
2.5 to 3.5 years

Join us as we take your child on her first steps in exploring the magic and power of classical music.

The Baby Beats curriculum follows the sequential theory of how children learn a language – listening, singing, clapping, tapping and movements. A foundation in musical response goes hand in hand with getting little hands ready for learning an instrument.  Your child will then be introduced to the violin.  From the all important postures of violin hold to bow hold, the instrument will be introduced with fun, whether it is to stand like statues with the violin or to march with the violin and the bow.

The curriculum follows a carefully selected collection of well loved folk songs, rhymes and classical masterpieces including Beethoven, Mozart to Tchaikovsky internalising tonal and rhythmic patterns as music literacy is gently introduced.

This is a parent accompanied class.

Max class size:  8 students per teacher

Prerequisites: A parent or guardian accompanies their child
Course fee: $350 for 10 lessons
Class size: Maximum of 8 students per class
Class duration: 45-minutes once a week

TWINKLE

This program is designed as a bridge between Baby Beats and Kinderviolin.  Still incorporating fun elements of Baby Beats, we build on the foundation and technical skills necessary for all musicians.

The curriculum also follows a carefully selected collection of well loved folk songs that leads towards familiar classical masterpieces.  Tonal and Rhythmic patterns are reinforced and music literacy is improved over the terms.

The goal is about setting up a healthy technical foundation on the violin and fostering a love for music.   Twinkle sets the child on the violin and at the end of this program, we hope your child will be playing twinkle with good violin postures, and ready to progress on to Kinderviolin.

Teens And Adults

You're never too young, or too old to start learning the violin. Whether the goal is to enjoy learning an instrument with friends, or to develop technical skills for exams (we prepare students for both ABRSM and Trinity Guildhall), we have specially designed classes that cater to teens and adults. For students from beginner to advanced, we offer both Prelude group classes as well as individual lessons.

Following the same signature Wolfgang Prelude Program, we adjust the curriculum to fit the learning style and ability of older students. In this welcoming group environment, they learn basic bowing techniques, scales and melodies. In the Beginner Introduction level, students learn to tune their instruments, and begin to read music and play simple songs. Students can choose to repeat this class in the spring term or move on to the Beginner Intermediate level.

Young Artist

At WVS, we believe that the talented child deserves the opportunity to be nurtured to the best ability at the right age.

Min Lee was a child prodigy who started playing the violin at age 2, gave her first performance at 5, and entered Yale University for the Masters of Music Program at 14. With her experiences, she now directs the WVS Trailblazer Program, a strong partnership between the talented child, the supportive parent and the teaching team.

The Wolfgang Trailblazer Program identifies and nurtures young talents to their full musical potential.

Young talents are given opportunities to perform in events, concerts, and competitions. The program is directed by Min Lee and Annie Lee.
